In Autumn (a partial poem in progress)

In Autumn the concrete
sidewalks give way to the trees;
they become cluttered with the
stains of brightly-colored leaves.

In Autumn, the mudrooms,
porches and entryways too
give way to the trees;
cluttered up comfortably
with the fallen leaves.

In Autumn

In Autumn, my world
that was filled with the promises
of life,
Gives way to a hell
Of unhappiness and strife.

You sound a little like Ogden Nash there.

I love Autumn, but my love for Autumn gives way to an even stronger love of winter full of happiness and harmony.
